Job summary

UNICO Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Project Land Surveyor to perform office and field tasks including ALTA, topographic, and parcel mapping for diverse projects.

You will prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for easements, compile title documents, and research mapping records in a fast-growing consulting environment. The role requires boundary knowledge, proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and hands-on survey field work using Trimble equipment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of boundary and legal principles.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D for survey drawings.
• Field survey experience using Trimble GPS equipment preferred.
• Experience in land development is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Map detailed survey drawings (Topographic, ALTA/ACSM, Records of Survey, Parcel Maps).
• Download and process field data.
• Perform computations for surveys, plats, easements, etc.

Job Overview

Under the direction of Licensed Land Surveyor, the Project Land Surveyor will perform various office and field tasks associated with land surveying and mapping, such as ALTA Surveys, Topographic Surveys, Utility Surveys, Records of Survey, Parcel Maps, Final Maps, plats and exhibits, legal descriptions, and easement documents for a wide range of projects and clients.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

• Mapping of detailed survey related drawings such as Topographic Surveys, ALTA/ACSM Surveys, Record of Surveys, Parcel Maps, Final Maps and other survey related services using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Download and process field data
• Perform various computations including closure, precision, and calculations for surveys, plats, easements, etc.
• Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for easement purposes
• Compile and research title documents and record mapping
• Ability to perform survey field work using Trimble Robotic and GPS equipment

Skills

• Must have basic knowledge of boundary and legal principals
• Must have knowledge with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Survey field experience is preferred using Trimble Robotic and GPS equipment
• Relevant experience with land development is preferred

Qualifications

• High School diploma, or equivalent, is required
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in surveying, or equivalent work experience, preferred
• Minimum of two years of relevant work experience is required
• Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) is preferred
