Under the direction of designated project leadership, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading and engaging with clients and teams in delivering services to creatively solve problems. You will perform with a high degree of latitude for a 2.0+ million square foot healthcare facility at Mayo Clinic’s campus in Rochester, MN.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Provide leadership to the client and project team in establishing project goals and vision.
- Lead interior design efforts across multiple projects.
- Develop and oversee the design process through all project phases, including Pursuit, Programming, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Design, and Construction Administration.
- Evaluate client needs, analyze, and document design objectives and spatial requirements.
- Lead the interior design approach within the project team.
- Conceptualize and develop interior space designs.
- Coordinate project design work and ensure code compliance.
- Collaborate with other disciplines such as architecture, engineering, and consultants.
- Review drawings and support functions to meet project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Oversee and produce design visualizations.
- Assist or lead in project planning, including work plan and budget development.
- Develop schedules for interior design components.
- Participate in client meetings and maintain positive relationships.
- Implement and enforce interior design standards across all project phases.
- Lead development of furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE) specifications.
- Mentor less experienced staff.
- Promote design leadership and collaborate with leadership.
- Consult with product vendors.
- Participate in marketing activities like proposals and interviews.
- Engage in construction administration, including site visits and review of submittals and shop drawings.
- Perform other duties as required.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
- At least 8 years of related experience.
- Current NCIDQ certification preferred.
- Proven leadership across multiple projects.
- Strong design, storytelling, technical skills, and knowledge of building and safety codes.
- Excellent presentation, organizational, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Experience leading high-performing teams preferred.
- Critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Qualified professional with high degree of autonomy and comfort with ambiguity.
- Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Willingness to travel.
- Professional business attire for client meetings.
The salary range for this position in our Chicago office is $81,955.00 - $102,398.00 annually. This range reflects our anticipated base salary but may vary based on experience, education, and location.
