Job Description

The Project Interior Designer oversees design projects from start to finish, blending creative vision with practical management skills. This role ensures projects meet aesthetic, budget, and timeline requirements by coordinating between clients, designers, and contractors. The Project Interior Designer transforms spaces into functional and visually appealing environments, enhancing both aesthetics and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating project proposals and coordinating with consultants.
  • Prepare design information, including specifications, materials, costs, and timelines.
  • Coordinate project plans and integrate engineering elements for client approval.
  • Prepare client and consultant agreements for review.
  • Lead all phases of design projects, including contracts, budgeting, scheduling, planning, design, documentation, and construction.
  • Manage client expectations regarding project scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Maintain positive client relationships and keep them informed of project progress.
  • Use project management tools like Smartsheet and Deltek Vision to manage projects, including team members, budget, consultants, and schedules.
  • Ensure project documentation and contracts comply with standards.
  • Review documents for building and ADA code adherence.
  • Support clients in obtaining bids and awarding construction contracts.
  • Communicate with consultants, contractors, and other disciplines to ensure project details are carried out.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with the Project Leadership Team and other Project Managers.
  • Incorporate sustainable design solutions into projects.
  • Mentor less experienced staff and participate in professional development reviews.
  • Foster a commitment to client service and maintain positive relationships with consultants, contractors, and teams.

Essential Skills

  • Proficient in Revit.
  • Experience in workplace environments of 20,000 SqFt minimum.
  • Minimum of 5 years as a lead project designer or design director.
  • Experience in corporate interiors, schematic design, and hospitality.
  • Proficiency in design software such as SketchUp.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design or architecture or equivalent in education or experience.
  • Advanced degrees or specializations can enhance job prospects.
  • NCIDQ certification preferred.
  • If registered Architect, NCARB registration preferred.
  • Current registered member of AIA (or OAA, if applicable) preferred.
  • LEED credential required within 12 months of employment.

Work Environment

The work environment is hybrid, with office presence required on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and the option to work from home on Monday and Friday. The team consists of 30-40 employees. The company culture is very collaborative, with fun office events every quarter and a work hard/play hard mentality. Employees have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of sectors, including large, high-profile projects. The company offers 20 days of PTO to start (22 for officers) and 10 paid holidays, with annual raises and bonuses based on performance. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
