Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a process engineer to lead the design and optimization of industrial water and wastewater treatment solutions within the IWTO portfolio. You will translate client needs into robust processes from study to startup, mentor junior staff, and manage deliverables.

The role includes field testing, commissioning support, and client presentations. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, apply diverse treatment processes, and travel up to 25% for site visits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering.
• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in industrial water/wastewater.
• Proficiency in engineering calculations using Excel and Mathcad.
• Experience designing water and wastewater systems and preparing construction documents.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and mentor engineers.
• Field experience including data gathering, QA, inspections, and treatability testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Serve as process engineer on industrial water/wastewater projects.
• Apply treatment processes including physical/chemical, biological, membrane, adsorption, filtration, disinfection, thermal evaporation, and crystallization.
• Mentor and guide junior staff in engineering calculations and drawings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement complex treatment solutions.
• Support projects from study through design, construction, startup, and O&M.
• Develop process design drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
• Perform field work: surveys, QA inspections, bench- and pilot-scale testing.
• Assist with system commissioning and startup including staff training.
• Prepare client presentations and participate in professional meetings.
• Manage projects to meet client and Arcadis expectations.
• Travel up to 25% for site visits and meetings.

Key requirements
