Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Project Industrial Engineer to coordinate cross‑functional teams across multiple sites. You will drive the design, implementation, and management of integrated production and service delivery systems to improve performance, cost, quality, and responsiveness.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering and experience in manufacturing, with focus on continuous improvement, program transfers, and facility/startup activities.

Project Industrial Engineer Location/ Division Specific Information

This position may support multiple Jabil sites, facilities, workcells, and functional organizations. The role requires the ability to collaborate with cross‑functional and multi‑site teams to drive industrial engineering projects, process improvements, standardization, new facility and workcell startups, program transfers, and operational excellence initiatives.

The Project Industrial Engineer will plan, design, implement, and manage integrated production and service delivery systems that optimize performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence, cost, quality, and responsiveness.

This role will lead and support cross‑functional industrial engineering projects across multiple Jabil sites, working with Operations, Business Units, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and other functional organizations to implement world‑class manufacturing systems, processes, tools, and procedures.

The Project Industrial Engineer will drive continuous improvement throughout the product and manufacturing life cycle, with a focus on profitability, operational effectiveness, adaptability, customer satisfaction, and sustainable process improvement.

What will you do?
  • Lead cross‑functional teams across multiple Jabil sites to identify, develop, test, and implement world‑class manufacturing equipment, systems, tools, procedures, and processes.
  • Ensure current and future manufacturing processes and systems meet or exceed customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and promote improvements in customer metrics to support customer satisfaction and business objectives.
  • Act as a liaison between Operations, Business Units, and Jabil sites during program transfers, including providing input into transfer plans, timelines, data requirements, technology requirements, process and procedural requirements, and knowledge‑transfer activities.
  • Participate in program launches and provide technical support as needed throughout the implementation process.
  • Provide technical support and assistance for new facility and workcell startups.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and technical assistance to site Industrial Engineering teams.
  • Lead and coordinate standardization of industrial engineering systems, procedures, tools, and practices across Jabil workcells and sites.
  • Ensure quality and manufacturing systems support customer, regulatory, and Jabil requirements.
  • Design and optimize human interfaces and manufacturing systems for SMT and Backend/DF operations, including: Raw material delivery, storage, and line‑feed systems. Product flow and online material‑handling systems. WIP management, sizing, and buffer‑storage systems. Ergonomic workstation design and layout. Process optimization and improvement. Workcell and complete plant layouts. 5S housekeeping and workplace organization. Develop, sustain, and improve assembly processes. Conduct time‑study and work‑measurement analysis to establish and improve labor standards and process efficiency. Own and drive yield‑improvement programs in partnership with Operations, Engineering, and Quality. Support box‑build quoting and product‑related industrial engineering activities. Provide systems support for applicable manufacturing and business systems, such as SAP, MES, IEDB, and related platforms.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert or provide technical support in one or more Industrial Engineering disciplines, including: Work Measurement Systems and Metrics Ergonomics, Workstation, and Line Design Capacity Sizing PFMEA and Design for Assembly (DFA) Fixtures and Tooling Simulation Quoting Warehousing.
  • Analyze operational data and financial information to identify opportunities for productivity, capacity, quality, and cost improvements.
  • Lead change‑management initiatives associated with major process, system, facility, and manufacturing improvements.
  • Develop and implement continuous‑improvement and cost‑reduction programs.
  • Promote best practices and lessons learned across Jabil sites and manufacturing operations.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
How will you get here?

Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Engineering, or a related technical field required.

  • Previous experience in Industrial Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional projects involving multiple functional organizations and/or manufacturing sites.
  • Experience with SMT, Backend/DF, assembly, box build, or other electronics manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing continuous‑improvement, productivity, yield‑improvement, and cost‑reduction initiatives.
  • Experience with manufacturing process development, work measurement, capacity analysis, facility/workcell design, and process optimization.
  • Experience supporting program transfers, new facility startups, workcell launches, or manufacturing transitions preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Broad knowledge and practical application of Industrial Engineering tools and methodologies, including work measurement, simulation, process mapping, facilities and workstation design, operations research, capacity analysis, and process optimization. Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, production processes, and operational excellence principles. Understanding of Jabil's global strategies, direction, and manufacturing objectives. Understanding of site facilities, capabilities, manufacturing technologies, and how they align with Jabil's broader strategies and direction. Strong financial and analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate project costs, benefits, capacity, productivity, and return on investment. Proven track record of successfully leading change‑management initiatives and implementing continuous‑improvement and cost‑reduction programs. Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders across multiple sites. Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to Industrial Engineering teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Project. Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar facility/layout design software. Working knowledge of manufacturing systems and enterprise applications such as SAP, MES, and IEDB. Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, develop solutions, and drive implementation. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, multi‑site, global manufacturing environment.

  • Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience supporting global or multi‑site manufacturing organizations.
  • Advanced knowledge of SMT and Backend/DF manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with manufacturing simulation and capacity modeling.
  • Experience with facility planning, plant layout, workcell design, and material‑flow optimization.
  • Experience developing and implementing standardized Industrial Engineering methodologies across multiple sites.
  • Experience with automated material handling, line‑feed systems, WIP management, and manufacturing systems integration.
  • Experience with PFMEA, DFA/DFM, ergonomics, and process‑risk assessment.

The pay range for this role is $100,100 - $180,200.

Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.

The anticipated close date of this job requisition is: October 01, 2026.

As part of the total rewards package, this position is eligible for a short‑term incentive based on performance.
