Job summary

The University of Akron is seeking an organized project administrator to develop, implement, and manage projects, grants, and other school administrative tasks from its Ohio campus.

The role focuses on managing purchases, budgets, and reporting to funders, while coordinating activities, maintaining grant-related files, and training faculty to use electronic databases. Experience creating marketing materials is preferred.

• 40% Responsible for project related purchases, budgets, and submission of required reports. Maintain files.
• 30% Prepare budgets and financial project reports to funding agencies.
• 20% Coordinate organizational activities as necessary. Develop and maintain school and grant files and electronic related databases. May train faculty in the use of electronic databases.
• 10% Create marketing materials for projects, including brochures, advertisements, and social media.

Additional Position Information

• Education: Requires a relevant bachelor's degree.
• Experience: Requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience in data management. Experience with budget management. Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills required. Experience creating marketing materials.
• Leadership: No authority or responsibility for the supervision of others.
• Physical Requirements: Job is physically comfortable; individual is normally seated and has discretion about walking, standing, etc. May occasionally lift very lightweight objects.
• Working Conditions: Standard working environment with possible minor inconveniences due to occasional noise, crowded working conditions and/or minor heating/cooling or ventilation problems. Near continuous use (>70% of the time) of a video display terminal.

Compensation

The compensation for this position is commensurate with experience.
