Job Description:

The Project Geotechnical Engineer at the company will work closely with engineering geologists, under the supervision of a principal engineer. The role involves collaborating directly with our team, clients, consultants, and contractors on diverse development projects. Key responsibilities include preparing engineering recommendations by analyzing soil composition, terrain, and related topographical and geologic data. Responsibilities:
  1. Manage geotechnical projects from concept through construction.
  2. Work directly with Senior Engineer in project execution, assisting with engineering duties of various complexity.
  3. Handle project management tasks, including budgeting, quality control, and scheduling.
  4. Interpret and analyze geotechnical data to determine engineering properties of soils and materials for foundation recommendations.
  5. Complete geotechnical engineering analyses, including slope stability, bearing capacity, and settlement.
  6. Develop and maintain client relationships.
  7. Collaborate effectively with team members; support junior staff through training and mentorship.
  8. Participate individually in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  9. Assist with data collection to support design decisions.
  10. Perform calculations and modeling to support projects.
Education and Licensure:
  • M.S. in Engineering with a Geotechnical emphasis.
  • Professional Engineer’s License in the State of Washington, or ability to obtain within 12 months.
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 to 7 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of project management experience.
Professional Experience in:
  • Geotechnical soil evaluation and construction observation.
  • Foundation bearing, deep foundation support, soil settlement.
  • Slope stability analysis.
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, sometimes in rugged or remote locations.
  • Willingness for daily travel, with potential for reimbursed overnight travel within Washington and northern Oregon.
  • Valid driver’s license.
