Job summary

Fugro-Geoteam AS in Houston, TX, is looking for a Project Geologist to lead environmental and geotechnical site investigations, manage project tasks, subcontractors, and client communications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology is required.
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in Geological Engineering/Geology is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of natural resources, environmental science, and geosciences.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts and proposals.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Lead site exploration planning and logging.
  • Coordinate with property owners and agencies for permits required for accessing sites and performing drilling.
  • Coordinate with drillers and other agencies in scheduling the drilling activities.
  • Proficently log and sample soil borings and test pits; perform in-situ tests.
  • Prepare engineering reports and cost estimates; drive equipment to job locations.

From mapping to modelling, onshore to offshore, we capture all the information you need about your project site.The Project Geologist will be responsible for completing all facets of an environmental and geotechnical site investigation by environmental regulations, including site project and task management, subcontractor and vendor coordination, geotechnical logging and reporting. This individual will also be tasked with onsite client management.Job Responsibilities:Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and the protection of the Environment as core values while never intentionally placing employees, our processes, customers, or the communities in which we live and work at risk.Develop and prepare site exploration plans.Coordinate with property owners and agencies in obtaining permits required for accessing sites and performing drilling.Coordinate with drillers and other agencies in scheduling the drilling activities.Procure and mobilize consumables and tooling on projectsLogging and sampling of soil borings and test pits.Carry out a variety of geotechnical in-situ testing such as pressure meter testing, packer testing, in-situ density testing, etc.Data entry such as laboratory test results and assisting with laboratory tests.Proficient with laboratory index data (analysis and reporting).Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and proposals.Assist in the preparation of engineering reports.Drive equipment to and from job location. Complete field assignments as directed.Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Company safety rules and procedures.Work around potentially hazardous materials.Perform other duties as assigned.Job Requirements:Legally Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictionsBachelor’s degree in Geology from an accredited college or university is required.
