Job description

Our client is an established owner-operator of utility-scale wind, solar and battery storage assets across North America, and is backed by a major global infrastructure investor. The company runs its entire portfolio in-house, from power generation and asset management to commercial energy solutions. Its culture is built on integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement, and it invests heavily in developing its people.

The role

This is a chance to join a small, close-knit Capital Markets team where you'll be mentored directly by experienced professionals and get significant deal exposure early in your career. You'll support debt and tax equity capital raising across project and portfolio financings, and provide analytical support on M&A, capital structure and strategic initiatives. You'll report to the Director of Capital Markets. The team wants someone who can hit the ground running on modelling from day one and then take on a meaningful role in live transactions.

What you'll do
Financing execution
  • Support the structuring, analysis, negotiation and execution of project and portfolio debt and tax equity transactions
  • Prepare investor and lender presentations, evaluate financing proposals and coordinate internal and external stakeholders through to closing
  • Help manage due diligence and closing processes with lenders and financing partners, including third-party consultants
Modelling and analysis
  • Build and maintain financial models to support capital raising and to compare financing alternatives, including acquisition financing when needed
  • Provide analytical support for M&A, including due diligence and capital structure optimization
Reporting and strategy
  • Prepare periodic reports for management, policy compliance and performance tracking
  • Lead special projects and ad hoc analysis in support of the wider business.
What you'll bring
  • 2+ years of experience from a formal training environment at a bank or sponsor. Project finance or debt capital markets backgrounds are especially well suited
  • Project finance experience in power generation or other energy infrastructure
  • Strong, hands-on project finance modelling skills, so you can contribute from the start
  • Advanced Excel, including macros
  • A bachelor's or graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics or a related field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, sharp attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to juggle shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A true team player who is excited about the energy transition and wants to build a career in renewables.
Nice to have
  • Tax equity experience (helpful, but not required)
  • Familiarity with solar, wind, BESS or other PTC/ITC-eligible technologies
  • Knowledge of financing structures such as PTCs, ITCs, tax credit transfers, front- and back-leverage, and private placements or other long-tenor debt
  • Exposure to debt and tax equity documentation
