Job summary

PMA is seeking a Project/Field Engineer in Los Angeles to manage contract deliverables and costs, coordinate submittals, RFIs, RFCs and other project documents. You will support change control processes and maintain controlled distribution lists while tracking progress and reporting at meetings.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of field engineering experience on large construction projects, a relevant bachelor’s degree, a CA driver’s license, and an EIT registration with PE being a plus.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Project/Field Engineer on large construction projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field.
  • Valid California Class C driver’s license.
  • EIT registration required; PE desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Understand all aspects of the Contract. Review contract budget, monitor costs and prepare reports as required.
  • Review, track, process and distribute submittals, requests for information (RFIs), requests for change (RFCs), design submittals, shop drawings, product data, work plans, meeting minutes, and other major correspondence.
  • Review submittals, deliverables and other construction documents for completeness and accuracy, and for compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate the approval process for documents and contract changes; manage and maintain the document control/change control process for all project documents; maintain controlled distribution lists.
  • Receive records and compile review comments; maintain an updated list of submittals, deliverables and other construction documents.
  • Report on progress of submittal, RFI, and design submittal reviews at progress meetings. Develop and maintain spreadsheets.
  • Oversee the updates and utilization of Primavera contract management software.
Qualifications
  • Approximately 3‑5 years of experience working as a Project/Field Engineer on large construction projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or a related field.
  • Valid California Class C driver’s license.
  • Engineer‑in‑training registration required; registration as a Professional Engineer desirable.
Additional Requirements

Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen.

Cognitive: Problem‑solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
