Job summary

Hargrove and Associates, Inc. in Saraland, AL is seeking a Construction Coordinator to manage daily field and site activities on small to mid-size projects.

You will coordinate with contractors, ensure safety and compliance, and monitor progress against milestones. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of industrial construction coordination experience, a strong understanding of engineering and procurement processes, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industrial construction coordination and administration experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Knowledge of company standards and practices and the function of all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.
  • Ability to manage client relationships in complex situations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily field and construction tasks and logistical activities.
  • Serve as the first line coordinator for all contractor activities.
  • Monitor contractor performance against milestones and completion dates and identify conflicts delays.
  • Develop work-around plans to mitigate conflicts or delays in concert with other coordinators.

Job description

Job Summary

Generally responsible for performing construction coordination for small to moderate construction assignments. This work will be performed under general supervision. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Knowledge and application of company standards.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction safety requirements, with a commitment to a zero accidents environment.
  • Ability to ensure contractor’s activities are planned and executed in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Working closely with the construction contractor to plan and coordinate daily field and construction tasks and logistical activities.
  • Serve as the “first line” coordinator for all contractor activities.
  • Monitoring contractor performance against contract milestones and completion dates as well as performance as it relates to the other activities on‑site to identify conflicts or potential delays.
  • Developing work‑around plans to mitigate conflicts or delays in concert with other construction coordinators.

Ideal Background Education

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field from an accredited university is preferred.

Licensing

No licensing is required for this position.

Experience

This position requires a minimum 5 years of relevant industrial construction coordination and administration experience.

  • Ability to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment such as a fire‑retardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hat.
