Hargrove & Associates Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Coordinator to oversee coordination of small to moderate industrial construction projects in Houston. The role requires ensuring safety, meeting milestones, and seamless collaboration with contractors and internal teams.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in construction coordination, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage complex schedules while adhering to company standards and safety practices.

Qualifications

• High School diploma as minimum; Bachelor/Master preferred in Construction Science or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant industrial construction coordination/administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of company standards and construction safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily field and construction tasks with the contractor.
• Monitor contractor performance against milestones and schedules.
• Develop work-around plans to mitigate conflicts and delays with other coordinators.

Job description

Job Summary

Generally responsible for performing construction coordination for small to moderate construction assignments. This work will be performed under general supervision. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Knowledge and application of company standards. Extensive knowledge of construction safety requirements, with a commitment to a zero accidents environment. Ability to ensure contractor's activities are planned and executed in a safe and efficient manner. Working closely with the construction contractor to plan and coordinate daily field and construction tasks and logistical activities. Serve as the "first line" coordinator for all contractor activities. Monitoring contractor performance against contract milestones and completion dates as well as performance as it relates to the other activities on-site to identify conflicts or potential delays. Developing work-around plans to mitigate conflicts or delays in concert with other construction coordinators.

Ideal Background Education

High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field from an accredited university is preferred.

Licensing

No licensing is required for this position.

Experience

This position requires a minimum 5 years of relevant industrial construction coordination and administration experience.

• Ability to perform work outdoors in hot or cold climates.
• Ability to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment such as a fire-retardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hat.
