Job summary

The Hardy Group seeks a Senior Project Executive to lead hospitality development efforts from regional offices, serving as the client-facing executive and internal standard-bearer. Candidates will bring 15+ years in architecture, development, or construction within hospitality, and travel is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the Role

The Project Executive is a senior leadership position based in one of HARDY's regional offices, with a scope of responsibility akin to a Managing Director. This individual serves as the primary client-facing executive and internal standard-bearer, overseeing the full lifecycle of hospitality development projects from site identification through construction completion while driving team performance, business development, and operational excellence across the firm.

Candidates must bring a minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in architecture, development, and/or construction within the hospitality sector. Travel is required. Demonstrated success in this role creates a clear path to executive leadership within the HARDY organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted partner for client relationships, ensuring long-term engagement and satisfaction.
  • Operate at HARDY executive level, representing the firm’s values, standards, and culture in all interactions.
  • Participate actively in the Operations Committee and contribute to the creation of firm-wide operational policy.
  • Develop new business for the company and introduce HARDY to prospective clients within the regional office’s geographic market.
Team & Talent Development
  • Monitor, mentor, and advise project teams, fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Champion the development of direct reports, actively investing in their career progression and skill building.
  • Model and reinforce the HARDY Value System across all team interactions and client engagements.
Project Management & Delivery
  • Oversee the full spectrum of property development from site identification through construction completion, including environmental, zoning, and municipal considerations; economic strategy; and scope, budget, and schedule management.
  • Direct project flow and coordinate the roles and responsibilities of all project team members, ensuring alignment at every phase.
  • Uphold HARDY’s process standards to consistently deliver timely, high-quality results for clients.
  • Track and enforce scope adherence throughout design, bidding, and negotiation phases.
  • Establish, monitor, and manage project budgets, trend logs, and draw processes for the full project duration.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules; proactively identify and resolve time-critical issues.
  • Maintain transparent and timely communication with clients and HARDY’s Director of Operations regarding schedule, budget, quality, and any emerging issues.
Qualifications
Experience & Background
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in architecture, real estate development, and/or construction management within the hospitality industry.
  • Demonstrated track record managing complex, multi-phase development projects from inception through delivery.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain executive-level client relationships over the long term.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and growing high-performance project teams.
  • Established network within the regional hospitality and real estate development market.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project; comfort with project management and financial tracking platforms.
  • Solid understanding of professional practice across architecture, interior design, engineering, and construction disciplines.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and technical specifications.
  • Fluency with HARDY’s proprietary project management and reporting systems, or the aptitude to learn them quickly.
