A leading employee-owned commercial general contractor is seeking an accomplished Project Executive to join its senior leadership team in either Seattle or the San Francisco Bay Area.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of major, technically challenging construction programs while leading project teams, strengthening key client relationships and influencing the continued growth of the business. The company delivers complex commercial construction and provides expertise across preconstruction, alternative delivery methods and Lean construction.

The successful candidate will provide executive oversight across construction operations, project management and project administration, ensuring projects achieve their financial, schedule, quality, safety and client-service objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership across multiple complex construction projects from preconstruction through final completion
• Lead and mentor Project Managers, Senior Project Managers and wider project teams
• Maintain accountability for project financial performance, forecasting, scheduling, risk and operational execution
• Develop lasting relationships with clients, design partners, subcontractors and consultants
• Work closely with estimating, preconstruction and purchasing teams during project pursuit and initial setup
• Support business development, project acquisition and strategic growth across the regional market
• Review contracts, procurement strategies, project controls and commercial risk
• Promote positive and professional relationships with subcontractors and trade partners
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, profitably and to a consistently high standard
• Provide senior-level guidance when resolving complex project or client issues
• Help establish operational standards and support the implementation of company policies and strategic objectives

The position is designed around client service, successful project completion, subcontractor relationships, project profitability and collaboration with estimating and purchasing during project setup.

Ideal Background

• Significant experience with a respected commercial general contractor
• Proven progression into a Project Executive, Operations Director or senior project leadership position
• Experience overseeing multiple projects and project teams simultaneously
• Strong understanding of preconstruction, estimating, contracts, scheduling and financial controls
• Track record of delivering large, complex or technically demanding construction projects
• Excellent client-facing, communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to develop high-performing teams and mentor future construction leaders
• Strong commercial awareness with a focus on profitability, risk management and client satisfaction
• Established relationships within the Seattle or San Francisco Bay Area construction market would be advantageous
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or a related discipline preferred

Compensation and Benefits

• Base salary up to $280,000, dependent on experience
