Location: San Francisco Bay Area, CA Reports to: Regional VP of Operations Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role
Our client, a Tier 1 General Contractor with a strong Bay Area presence, is seeking a Project Executive to lead delivery across a portfolio of large, complex commercial and institutional projects. This is a senior leadership role with direct accountability for client relationships, financial performance, and operational execution across multiple concurrent projects.
Candidates with healthcare (OSHPD/HCAI) and/or aviation construction experience are highly valued, given the complexity, regulatory rigor, and specialized delivery methods these sectors demand — but the role is open to strong Project Executives from any major market sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior oversight and leadership across a portfolio of projects, from preconstruction through closeout.
- Serve as the primary executive point of contact for owners, developers, and institutional clients.
- Own project financial performance across the portfolio, including forecasting, margin protection, and risk management.
- Lead and mentor Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and Superintendents across assigned projects.
- Oversee complex regulatory and compliance requirements specific to specialized sectors (e.g., OSHPD/HCAI approval and closeout for healthcare; TSA, FAA, and airport authority coordination for aviation work, where applicable).
- Manage phased, occupied, or operationally sensitive construction sequencing common to healthcare and aviation environments.
- Partner with business development and preconstruction teams to pursue and win new work across target sectors in the Bay Area.
- Build and maintain relationships with owners, healthcare systems, airport authorities/developers, and specialty subcontractors relevant to these sectors.
- Represent the company in client presentations, industry events, and market-facing engagements.
- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and standards across the region.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of construction leadership experience, with a Tier 1 GC background strongly preferred.
- Healthcare (OSHPD/HCAI) and/or aviation construction experience highly valued.
- Established relationships within the Bay Area construction market — owners, developers, and specialty subcontractors.
- Proven track record managing large, multi-project portfolios and complex client relationships.
- Strong financial acumen — experience owning P&L across a portfolio of projects.
- Demonstrated leadership developing and mentoring project teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
