Job summary

Clark Construction Group seeks an experienced Project Executive to lead a high-performing team on major projects. You will drive contract administration, change orders, procurement, scheduling and financial reporting, while coordinating with owners, designers, and subcontractors across active job sites.

The role requires a strong safety focus, proven leadership, and the ability to manage complex projects from start to finish, including risk management and team development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in a related field (engineering, architecture, construction management) or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of construction experience on large scale projects preferred.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing contracts, changes, procurement, schedules and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead contract administration, change orders, procurement, schedule, and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate project meetings and ensure timely communication with owners, designers, and trades.
  • Drive safety culture and manage site activities with a hands-on leadership style.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, risk logs, and status reporting.
  • Support new business pursuits through proposals and presentations.
  • Oversee project close-out including turnover of manuals and warranties.

Job description

As Project Executive, you will be the driving force of a leadership team dedicated to providing world class service to our clients by leading, directing, and coordinating the day to day management of the project. You will be a champion of the project goals and objectives to the entire project team. The Project Executive will create a project plan that outlines the tasks, timelines, and resources required to achieve the project’s goals. The Project Executive with the help of the Senior Project Manager, Project Manager and Project Engineers will communicate with the broader project team and stakeholders, manage risk and monitor progress against the schedule. Successful candidates will demonstrate their passion for and dedication to getting the job done.ResponsibilitiesLead all activities related to contract administration, change orders, procurement, schedule, and financial reportingHave thorough knowledge of the company's contracts and understanding of all parties involvedSecure required permits and verify insurance coverage for subcontractorsFacilitate project meetings to successfully coordinate work activityLead, train and develop project team membersPrepare and submit monthly job status reports that outline project priorities and issuesLead project close out of project; including turnover of manuals and warranties and preparation of final payment documents for subcontractorsDevelop and maintain positive working relationships with counterparts at owner, engineering and design firmsEstablish a deadline and monitor the progress of the projectDrive a culture of safety on the project siteSupport the company’s acquisition of new work by participating in proposals and presentationsProvide leadership to foster an environment of inclusion and diversityBasic QualificationsUndergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, a related discipline or relevant work experience10+ years of construction experience required; working for a general contractor on large scale construction projects is highly preferred.6+ years leading, developing and motivating teamsUnderstanding of the strategic, operational and financial components of a construction projectAbility to make timely and effective decisionsExperience managing projects successfully from start to finishSkilled at developing and negotiating relationships with owners and trade contractorsStrong work ethic, leadership and the ability to work in a fast paced environmentAlignment to Clark Standards of Excellence: self-motivated, results oriented, adaptable, team player, accountable, ethical, innovative, resilient, builds relationships, builds people/teams and followership, sets direction and executesPreferred QualificationsPrimavera P6, SAP (or some other financial system), Procore, Microsoft ExcelDBIA and LEED AccreditationThe work environment and requirements described below are representative of those necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.The Physical Side of the Role: This is an active, hands-on role. You can expect to be on your feet frequently, navigating active job sites with uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists. The work is physically demanding and requires a full range of motion, including bending, kneeling, and reaching. You’ll need to be comfortable frequently lifting and carrying materials up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively, as well as visual acuity for reading plans and inspecting work. The role does include desk time in the office that may require prolonged periods of sitting for tasks like computer work, document review, and meetings.Your Work Environment: You’ll spend a significant amount of your time on active construction sites, which means being adaptable to all kinds of weather and moderate to loud noise levels, and comfortable in elevated or confined work areas with moving mechanical equipment and with the fast-paced nature of a project in progress. You will also spend time in a typical office setting with moderate noise levels.
