Job summary

Interlix Staffing is seeking a Project Estimator (Low Voltage) to own the full estimating cycle for electronic security bids, focusing on multifamily ground-up construction. This role requires reviewing plans, performing quantity takeoffs, and developing BOMs to prepare complete estimates and proposals.

The ideal candidate has Division 28 experience, strong blueprint-reading skills, and the ability to manage 5–10 bids concurrently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Direct Electronic Safety & Security (Division 28) estimating experience.
• Minimum 3 years of estimating experience.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam Revu (required).
• Direct Experience estimating Low-Voltage Security Infrastructure.
• Strong ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural, electrical, low-voltage, and security construction drawings for each bid.
• Interpret Division 28 Electronic Safety and Security specifications and identify security-related scope.
• Review door schedules and hardware schedules to identify access control and security requirements.
• Perform accurate quantity takeoffs, counting and documenting all security devices (locks, readers, cameras, etc.)
• Develop detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) using the in-house Simpro quote template.
• Select appropriate manufacturers, models, accessories, and supporting equipment for a complete installation.
• Build detailed project estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and ancillary costs.
• Customize project materials, devices, and travel-related expenses (per diem, lodging, parking, and ancillary costs).
• Support bid clarifications, scope reviews, and proposal revisions.
• Manage 5–10 active bids simultaneously with new bids arriving daily.

Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours per week - US Business Time - EST Schedule)

Compensation: $12/hr (~$2,000/month)

Position Overview

The Project Estimator (Low Voltage) will own the full estimating cycle for electronic security bids, from plan review and takeoff through design, bill of materials, and final quote. Focused primarily on multifamily ground-up construction, this role requires deep Division 28 expertise and the ability to manage multiple concurrent bids in a fast-paced environment. The estimator will be reviewing plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, developing bills of materials (BOMs), and preparing complete estimates and proposals for Electronic Safety & Security projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• Simpro estimating and project management software experience
• Division 8 (doors, hardware, and openings) experience, including reviewing hardware schedules
• Structured cabling experience (Cat6/Cat6A, fiber, MDF/IDF buildouts)
• Familiarity with manufacturers such as Brivo, ButterflyMX, Verkada, Avigilon Alta, Alarm.com, LiftMaster, Axis, Hanwha, HID Global, or Paxton
