Job summary

Vega Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a motivated Masonry Estimator in Pilot Mountain, NC. Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply as we provide training on reading drawings, takeoffs, and masonry cost estimation.

You will learn to measure wall areas, calculate quantities for brick, CMU, stone, mortar, and related materials, and assist with bid preparation for general contractors and repeat clients. Strong attention to detail and computer skills are valued.

Qualifications

• No minimum years of estimating experience required.
• Basic math skills and willingness to strengthen construction-related calculations.
• Desire to learn, ask questions, accept feedback, and build confidence over time.
• Previous experience reading construction plans or working in construction or masonry.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and committed to producing accurate work.
• Comfort using computers and willingness to learn Microsoft Excel and estimating or takeoff software.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with leadership, office staff, field teams, clients, and vendors.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural and structural drawings to identify masonry scope and project details.
• Measure wall areas and quantities for brick, CMU, stone, mortar, grout, reinforcement, and related materials.
• Assist with estimating labor hours and developing material, equipment, transportation, and other project costs.
• Request, organize, and compare quotes from vendors, material suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Help prepare bid forms, proposals, scope details, clarifications, and supporting documents.
• Assist with conceptual estimates and budget pricing for general contractors and repeat clients.
• Assist with project handoffs, change-order pricing, cost analysis, and estimating questions after award.

About the Position:

Vega Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Masonry Estimator. • Help prepare accurate bid forms, proposals, scope details, clarifications, and supporting documents.
• Assist with conceptual estimates and budget pricing for general contractors and repeat clients.
• Assist with project handoffs, change-order pricing, cost analysis, and estimating questions after a project is awarded.

Additional Position Requirements:

• Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
