Their primary duty involves analysis of project specifications, technical drawings and design documentation to accurately determine the expenses and timescales associated with nuclear implementation/construction and maintenance projects. The role of an estimator is critical in ensuring that nuclear projects adhere to budgetary and scheduling constraints while maintaining stringent safety and quality standards.**Job Description****Key** **Accountabilities*** Project Analysis: They analyze nuclear project drawings, specifications and design/technical documentation to understand the project’s scope and requirements while adhering to the industry’s regulatory requirements.* Accurate Cost Forecasting: Utilizing specialist cost estimation software and techniques, they forecast material, consumables, labor, equipment, fees and overhead costs associated with the project.* Quality Documentation: Estimator documents details, bases, and key assumptions associated with the cost estimate.* Fleet Estimating: Provide estimates for nuclear projects across the fleet – supporting both Pressurized and Boiling Water Reactor facilities (PWR/BWR).* Cost Estimate Re-evaluating: Re-evaluate cost estimates during the Long Range Planning (LRP) process for future years out.* Supplier and Vendor Interaction: Estimators research and obtain quotes from suppliers, subcontractors and vendors to inform their cost assessments.
