Job summary

Crescent Power Systems Inc is seeking a Project Estimator to develop administrative elements of proposal preparation in response to RFQs and budgets. The role involves identifying labor, material, and time requirements to build quotes and support the Estimating Director, while ensuring proposal documentation is secure and well organized.

You will coordinate with internal teams and vendors, maintain bid-tracking systems, attend reviews, and help deliver on customer deadlines.

Job description

The Project Estimator is responsible for the development of administrative aspects of proposal development, supporting fully-compliant, highly successful proposals in response to customer RFQs and budgetary estimates -including differentiators and strengths for proposal content. Estimating requires identification of labor, material and time requirements to compute costs and enter information as a quote to Crescent Power Systems potential clients. The Project Estimator supports the Estimating Director and assists ensuring the security and integrity of all proposal documentation by coordinating internal flow and availability of proposal component inputs. Working with vendors to secure appropriate goods and packages, the Project Estimator represents early-stage interaction with both internal and external constituents.

Work Experience

Preferred 1+ years of experience in a professional environment

Working knowledge and experience with preparation of budgets, schedules and cost estimates

• Accurately enters data related to customer parts and bills of materials (costing sheets) as needed to maintain accurate reference points for Quotations Team.
• Understand confidential and proprietary information to accurately redact quotes as needed.
• With Estimating Director's oversight, review the inquiry documents for equipment, scope, special requirements and appropriate vendor outreach.
• Establish and document electronic proposal file access and tracking protocols for ensuring the security and integrity of all proposal documentation.
• Advanced degree of detail-orientation required for integrating information from multiple sources, organizational skills and ability to time manage.
• Supports team goals related to price/delivery negotiations, terms and conditions of sale, and tracking vendor performance and managing vendor logistics on the quotation end.
• Effectively works with the Quotations Team to ensure that all proposals are always delivered within customer-defined time frames and are properly focused on clearly delivering the relevant equipment and service information required to win.
• Obtain feed-back from projects for "lessons learned" to incorporate in future proposals.
• Attend the internal Sales/Order Review meeting with supporting documentation from the quotation process.
• Attend any customer Sales/Order Review meetings as required with the sales staff.
• Maintain a bid-tracking system and print weekly reports in conjunction with sales on proposal life cycle.
• Effective, professional communications skills both written and verbal for interface with Clients and co-workers.
• Effective computer skills: Excellent Excel skills required. Microsoft Office Software, and other Company and discipline specific software applications.
• Other reasonable and normal duties associated with the Project Estimator position.

Relationship Support

• Maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure Crescent Power is highly rated and receives priority bidding information.
• Maintain knowledge of approved company vendors, estimating methods as well as project execution procedures.
