Job summary

Team UIS in Michigan seeks a skilled Project Estimator to support electrical projects. You will collaborate with Project Managers, Engineering, and external contractors to bid accurately on new electrical work.

You will own the quotation process, optimize workflows, and maintain detailed records while building strong contractor relationships. Must have 2+ years of electrical estimating experience and read electrical diagrams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in construction management, business, or related field.
• 2+ years of electrical estimating experience.
• Ability to read electrical one-line diagrams and project specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (OneDrive).
• HubSpot & BlueBeam familiarity is a plus.
• Familiarity with bidding sites preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end quotation process – scoping requests, estimating costs, sending proposals, tracking responses, and following up with customers.
• Monitor and optimize the estimating workflow, identify areas for improvement, and implement efficient processes.
• Maintain organized records of quotes, bid documents, and relevant correspondence.
• Address changes during the estimating process and communicate updates promptly.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with electrical contractors to promote sales growth.
• Hand won jobs over to Project Managers.
• Contribute to Team UIS success by performing additional duties as needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

As a Project Estimator, you will work with Project Managers, Engineering, and external electrical contractors to accurately bid on new electrical work. Key responsibilities include:

• Manage the end-to-end quotation process – including scoping requests, estimating costs, sending proposals, tracking responses, and following up with customers.

• Address any changes or revisions required during the estimating process and ensure that updates are accurately and promptly communicated.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with electrical contractors to promote sales growth.
• Hand won jobs over to Project Managers.
• Contribute to the overall success of Team UIS by performing additional duties as needed.

Qualifications, Experience, and Education Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, business, or related field - preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant electrical estimating experience.
• Ability to read electrical one-line diagrams and project specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (OneDrive) - HubSpot & BlueBeam familiarity is an added bonus.
• Familiarity with bidding sites preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Robust relationship building skills with both internal and external customers.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
