Prescott Partners, a well established general contractor serving residential, commercial, and industrial sectors in Georgia, is growing and hiring an Estimator. You will review plans and specs to develop cost estimates and perform quantity takeoffs across trades.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project management experience in concrete/asphalt paving or heavy civil construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and materials.
• Solid understanding of construction documents, specifications, and building codes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience estimating both public (bid/spec) and private negotiated work preferred.
• Familiarity with CSI MasterFormat divisions.
• Relationships with local subcontractor and supplier base preferred.
• Experience with design-build or GMP projects essential.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment across all trades.
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier bids/quotes.
• Prepare and present competitive bid packages, proposals, and budgets for owners and clients.
• Identify scope gaps, exclusions, and qualifications in bid documents.
• Analyze historical cost data and market trends to refine estimating accuracy.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors during preconstruction.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks to assess project conditions.
• Track and maintain a database of unit costs, vendor pricing, and past project data.
• Support value engineering efforts and constructability reviews.
• Assist with contract negotiations and buyout after project.

Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to develop comprehensive cost estimates

• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment across all trades/scopes
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and supplier bids/quotes
• Prepare and present competitive bid packages, proposals, and budgets for owners and clients
