Job summary

Core Group Resources is hiring a Project Engineering Manager for an engineering client in Corpus Christi, TX. This role owns the technical delivery of large, complex process plant projects, ensuring engineering is complete, buildable, and aligned with business goals from early front-end planning through closeout.

You will lead multi-discipline engineering teams, manage interfaces with contractors and owner’s engineers, and partner closely with project managers and project controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited program.
• 15+ years in engineering and project delivery in refining, petrochemical, gas processing, chemicals, or related.
• 10+ years in project engineering roles leading multi-discipline teams on brownfield/greenfield projects.
• Proven ownership of engineering execution from concept through closeout.
• Strong knowledge of EPC/EPCM delivery, design assurance, and project controls.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication and client leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering delivery on major projects from kickoff through closeout.
• Direct multi-discipline engineering teams, setting priorities and expectations.
• Act as main engineering contact for PMs, client leadership, vendors, and construction.
• Maintain design integrity to meet scope, safety, quality, operability, cost, and schedule.
• Approve execution plans, discipline plans, key design decisions and recoveries.
• Push cross-discipline optimization for constructability and lifecycle value.
• Support project financial health through forecasting and minimized rework.
• Manage technical change and update baselines with approved mitigations.
• Identify and manage high-impact risks and interfaces with clear ownership.
• Lead quality and HSE expectations and capture lessons learned.
• Advise leadership with options and recommendations on complex issues.
• Support proposals, estimates, and resource planning.
