Job summary

CAE USA is seeking a Project Engineer to lead Integrated Product Teams on flight-simulator programs, coordinating engineering content from planning to close-out. You will work with senior management and ensure cost, schedule, and technical performance across IPTs.

The role requires US citizenship, DoD program experience, and strong leadership, communication, and project controls skills; travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Sciences required.
  • 8+ years USG/DoD development program experience.
  • 3+ years Engineering Lead experience in USG/DoD development programs.
  • 3+ years experience with IBM/Rational or Atlassian development and collaboration tools, DOORS, EVM, and MS Project.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large, complex project initiatives with cross-functional teams.
  • Act as technical lead over assigned engineering team on a program; participate in reviews and coordinate activity among IPTs.
  • Perform CAM reviews weekly/monthly and manage technical, cost, and schedule performance.
  • Communicate effectively within and outside the organization, including customers or vendors.
  • Report to a Directorate Chief Engineer and drive delivery of Product Line solutions.

Summary The Project Engineer (PE) leads, coordinates, and exercises technical program execution authority over Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) for planning, organizing, controlling, integration, execution of, and close out of engineering content on a variety of flight simulator programs. The position will work closely with senior level program engineering management.   • Responsible for managing large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization, involving large cross-functional teams.
  • The PE performs as the technical lead over the assigned engineering team on a program to include leading/participating in program peer & gate reviews, supporting program management reviews (PMRs), and coordinating technical activity amongst the program IPTs.
  • The PE performs weekly/monthly Cost Account Management (CAM) reviews with IPTs and is responsible for technical, cost and schedule performance for the engineering content on a program.
  • Communicates within and outside of the organization which include customers or vendors.
  • The PE receives engineering direction from and is accountable to a Directorate Chief Engineer (DCE), who has overall Program Engineering responsibility for successfully proposing, developing and delivering Product Line solutions.
  • Work consists of making significant improvements of processes, systems, solutions, or products to enhance performance of job area.
  • Implements strategic goals established by leadership. Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Sciences
  • 8+ years of USG/DoD development program experience
  • 3+ years of Engineering Lead experience in USG/DoD development programs
  • 3+ years of experience with IBM/Rational or Atlassian development and collaboration tools, DOORS, Earned Value Management (EVM), and Microsoft Project
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. Preferred Skills
  • Advanced Master's Degree in an engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of experience within the training and simulation industry
  • 3+ years of experience performing as liaison between program management, engineering management, and the technical disciplines involved in a project.
  • 3+ years of experience performing as primary technical interface with USG/DoD customers. Security Responsibilities Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures. Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval. All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance. Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role. Work This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Works at job activities that require sitting, standing or walking for short periods throughout the day and focused visual concentration or focused listening
  • Work is sometimes performed in an environment where irritants such as noise, temperature, and lighting variations may exist.
  • Some time will be spent in a development lab and occasion travel (10% of the time) Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Must be able to perform normal office duties (e.g. sitting for long periods at a desk)
  • Must be able to travel CONUS/OCONUS via car and airplane
