Scherrer Construction Co., Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to support engineering details, blueprints, and building materials across multiple projects.

The role involves project workflow, site safety, and closeout activities within a dynamic team environment. Responsibilities include material verification against specs, assisting with estimating and subcontracting tasks, permits, and maintaining strong client and contractor relations.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees, associates, vendors, contractors, consultants, and clients.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Detail-oriented and task-focused.
• Proficient with industry-standard software and applications.

Responsibilities

• Verify that building materials meet engineering specifications.
• Assist PM/Estimating with: estimating/bidding; buyout and scoping of subcontractors and vendors; writing subcontracts; obtaining permits.
• Maintain good relations with the project team, including Owner, Project Manager, Estimator, Project Coordinator, Superintendent, and Subcontractors.
• Assist in project quality and control; participate in jobsite safety meetings, walks, and related activities; assist PM/Superintendent with issue resolution; professionally represent Scherrer Construction team and brand.

POSITION SCOPE

Scherrer Project Engineers focus on engineering details, blueprints and building materials. They will participate in a variety of activities including project workflow, jobsite safety and project closeout .

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Verify that building materials meet engineering specifications.
• Assist PM/Estimating with:
  • Estimating/bidding
  • Buyout and scoping of subcontractors and vendors

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's in Construction Management , Engineering or related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in the construction industry preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Possess u nderstanding of construction term inology, processes, materials, and workflow.
• A general understanding of construction methods.
• Detail-oriented and task-focused.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees, associates, vendors, contractors, consultants, and clients.
• Computer proficiency using industry-standard software and applications.
