Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers is seeking a Project Engineer in Texas to lead design and engineering execution on water and wastewater projects. You will own technical deliverables from concept through final design, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and compliance with codes and client requirements.

Responsibilities include coordinating with project managers and subconsultants, reviewing work for quality, mentoring junior staff, and communicating with clients and public agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of design standards and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency with engineering design and analysis software.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead technical work and coordinate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and produce complete engineering designs, including plans, specifications, and calculations.
• Evaluate design alternatives balancing quality, constructability, cost, and schedule.
• Coordinate technical work with project managers, subconsultants, and stakeholders.
• Review work prepared by engineers, EITs, designers, and technicians for accuracy and quality.
• Prepare and review technical reports and documentation using standard tools.

Job Description:Project EngineerOverviewThe Project Engineer is a licensed Professional Engineer responsible for leading technical design and engineering execution on projects within their assigned service area. This role takes full ownership of technical deliverables from concept through final design, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
