Summary

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our Water business line in Illinois. This is a great opportunity for a PE who is interested in working with a dynamic team on a wide range of projects for our Water-Wastewater Team, while mentoring junior team members and providing guidance under the direction of a Project Manager. We specialize in providing planning, design, and construction phase engineering services on projects including wastewater treatment plants, wastewater collection systems, drinking water plants, and water distribution systems. You will work alongside knowledgeable engineers and professionals in an environment that fosters collaboration and career development. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Use professional judgment to independently complete assigned engineering designs.
2. Assist or act as Project Manager, assign tasks, monitor progress, and answer questions from team members.
3. Check the accuracy of tasks completed by engineering and technical staff through QA/QC processes.
4. Make major design decisions that meet client needs while considering project impacts.
5. Identify technical, schedule, or financial issues proactively and seek resolutions.
6. Assist in bidding or contractor selection if authorized.
7. Monitor construction activities and supervise field personnel.
8. Respond to contractor questions, issue project addenda, and prepare change orders.
9. Participate in creating engineering proposals, including estimating time and costs.
10. Sign and seal engineering documents as an authorized company representative.
11. Serve as a technical expert or Project Manager on smaller or specialized projects.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering; PE registration in applicable states or ability to obtain within six months.
• Four or more years of design/engineering experience with demonstrated authority to sign documents.
• Strong technical writing and reading skills, proficiency with analysis and computer equipment.
• Analytical, problem-solving skills, and professional knowledge application.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
• Previous water/wastewater experience required.

Compensation Range

$71,860.00 - $130,180.00

The final salary depends on education, experience, skills, and location. Compensation may include a base salary and performance-based bonuses.
