Job summary

HDR is seeking a Project Engineer in the United States to join a collaborative team delivering water and wastewater projects. You will perform design calculations, prepare reports, and coordinate with multiple offices and disciplines to keep projects on track.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, a PE license, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team to meet regulatory standards across varied locations, including San Antonio.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license required.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and be accountable for results.
  • Experience executing technical studies and design work for water-focused projects.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Support and lead projects related to water, wastewater, and water resource management.
  • Prepare design calculations, cost estimates, technical reports, and engineering plans and specifications.
  • Accumulate and analyze data and present findings in professional reports, memos, and presentations.
  • Work independently while collaborating with Project Managers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Lead portions of design work and ensure deliverables meet regulatory and industry standards.
  • Assist with permitting applications and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate with team members across offices and disciplines to keep projects on track.

What You’ll Do

As a Project Engineer you will be part of a collaborative team focused on delivering high-impact water and wastewater projects. You will crunch design calculations, coordinate across offices, and support the success of clients and communities.

  • Coordinate with team members across multiple offices and disciplines to keep projects on track.

$67,000 – $134,000 depending on skills, experience, education, and location.
