What We’re Looking For

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking a motivated Water/Wastewater Project Engineer to join our growing team in Columbus, GA. In this role, you will take an active part in delivering meaningful infrastructure solutions that directly impact the communities we serve — including exciting work on a Water Treatment Plant design project right here in Columbus. You’ll have the opportunity to work on projects while collaborating with experienced engineers on larger, more complex initiatives. Responsibilities
  • Assist in project scope and budget development, as well as, assisting in project design.
  • Supports PM providing technical leadership on conventional projects.
  • Designs experiments, interprets, and develops conclusions on complex data.
  • Writes and reviews engineer specifications, documents, drawings, etc. to produce various deliverables.
  • Designs a component, or process on complex projects or designs a complete project, systems, or components on conventional projects.
  • Responsibility for completing a subset of project documents.
  • Participate in client meetings, as appropriate.
  • Conducts on-site visits to monitor progress of project(s).
  • Directs and mentors EITs and Designers in preparation of project plans.
  • Technical lead on conventional projects.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
  • Timeliness & quality of technical team’s work on projects and budget adherence.
  • Utilization rates align with goal.
Education & Experience Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program. Minimum of 6 or more years of engineering experience.
  • Registered PE.
  • Able to solve problems effectively while managing multiple deadlines.
  • Applies practical knowledge acquired through progressive experience to resolve issues.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, and other essential equipment for field and office work.
  • Keeps informed of new methods and developments affecting the organization.
