Job summary

Moltz Construction Inc. in Colorado Springs is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee layout, surveying, and coordination of contract drawings for field staff. The role emphasizes QA/QC, site instructions, and change management support on water/wastewater projects.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years construction experience.
• Water or wastewater project experience preferred.
• Strong surveying skills are a plus but not a requirement.
• Ability to learn quickly.
• Proficient in modeling software is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform surveying, daily reporting, and quality control management on projects.
• Coordinate contract documents to field staff with Project Managers/Superintendent.
• Monitor change management process and track changes to project documents.
• Assist with drawings, records, revisions, and site instructions.
• Support Superintendent with templates and documents on roles/responsibilities.
• Record change orders and update site drawings; maintain QA/QC and safety records.

About the Role:

The Project Engineer is responsible for layout, surveying and coordination of contract drawings to field staff and quality control functions of a project. This is a task‑based role that requires working knowledge of core elements of construction projects, the ability to read blueprints, and the ability to use surveying equipment.

As a Project Engineer at Moltz Construction Inc., you will:

• Perform a variety of duties including surveying, daily reporting, and quality control management
• Work with Project Managers/on‑site Superintendent to coordinate contract documents to field staff
• Monitor project change management process, identify change events, and track changes to the project documents
• Assist with drawings, drawing records, revisions, and site instructions
• Support Superintendent with creating templates and supporting documents on behalf of project team regarding roles and responsibilities
• Record change orders and update site drawings
• Maintain QA/QC and Safety records
