Job summary

R-2 Contractors is seeking a Project Engineer (I, II, III) for utility-scale power and renewables projects. The on-site role is based in Gilbert, AZ, with travel to active sites up to 50% of the time.

You will collaborate with Project Managers and field teams, read plans, manage RFIs and submittals, and track quantities, materials, costs, and schedules to drive project success and growth toward leadership.

You don’t need to be a fully developed Project Manager on day one. You do need construction fundamentals, organization, clear communication, and the drive to learn. We’ll teach you R-2’s systems and processes while giving you meaningful responsibilities—not just a seat on the sidelines.

What you bring

• Construction field or project coordination experience; two or more years preferred.
• Ability to read plans and specifications and support RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
• Interest in schedules, quantity tracking, materials, costs, and the details that keep projects moving.
• A proactive, dependable approach to working with field leadership, vendors, and project teams.
• Willingness to work on active jobsites and travel; a related degree is valued, but equivalent experience counts.
