Job summary

Preston Pipelines Infrastructure, a part of Preston Companies, is seeking a detail-oriented Project Engineer for underground utility and civil construction projects in the San Jose, CA area. You will collaborate with project managers, field crews, and clients to ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence while upholding high quality standards.

You will review plans, assist with submittals and logs, manage look-ahead schedules, and track quantities and timecards.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans, specifications, and soils reports
• Review estimates and project budgets
• Perform materials take-offs and verify quantities
• Coordinate with subs, suppliers, and truckers
• Assist Project Manager with purchase orders and subcontract logs
• Assist in SWPP, traffic, excavation plans, JHAs, MOPs as required
• Prepare and review site submittals and logs
• Document site photos for condition changes
• Maintain project logs and look-ahead schedules
• Attend weekly job-site meetings and start meetings with PM/Estimator/PE/Superintendent
• Track timecards and ensure timely submission to accounting
• Maintain as-built drawings and project pictures
• Coordinate with PM for close-out documents and warranty manuals
• Ensure work conforms to project specifications and safety requirements
