Job summary

LVI Associates in Oakland, CA is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to join its civil construction team. You will support planning, coordination, and execution of underground wet utility projects, including storm drains, water pipelines, and sewer installations.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of field experience, strong skills reading drawings, and solid organization and communication abilities to help deliver projects safely, on time, and within quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience on underground wet utility projects as a Project Engineer or Field Engineer.
• Experience with storm drain, water pipelines, and sewer pipelines.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• Willingness to travel and valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents with planning, coordination, and execution of wet utility construction projects.
• Support projects involving underground storm drain, water, and sewer pipeline installation.
• Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project correspondence.
• Track project schedules, budgets, production quantities, and subcontractor performance.
• Coordinate with owners, inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
• Assist with project procurement, material tracking, and vendor coordination.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting.
• Support project closeout activities and ensure contractual requirements are met.
• Participate in project meetings and provide progress updates.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
