Job description

Position Summary

At Shrewsberry, you will be part of a fun, dynamic team that does exceptional work for our customers. Responsibilities include coordination and design of various transportation projects within DFW Metroplex agencies. This position oversees and is responsible for completing a variety of professional engineering assignments in transportation planning, design, civil site development, and airports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Prepare designs and PS&E documents for roadway and civil projects including roadway, trail, sidewalk, erosion control, storm drainage systems (including natural drainage practices), water transmission systems, sewers, earthwork, ADA ramps, pavement overlays, signing, and traffic control.
  2. Review construction plans, design calculations, and specifications for completeness, accuracy, and conformity to standards.
  3. Coordinate with clients, utility companies, and government agencies for project delivery.
  4. Prepare project plans, specifications, reports, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
  5. Resolve design problems through field investigations, detailed design work, and coordination.
  6. Collaborate with team members, professionals, and disciplines across multiple offices.
  7. Work closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
  8. Mentor and train junior staff.
  9. Prepare plans and roadway modeling using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads.
  10. Perform administrative duties, including record keeping and report preparation.
  11. Participate in business development activities.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Experience and Education
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • EIT with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of AASHTO design standards, MUTCD, and ADA guidelines.
  • Experience in developing transportation engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, and BlueBeam Revu.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
