Join to apply for the Project Engineer - Transportation role at Tighe & Bond.

Where would you step in? As a valuable member of our transportation team, you will be primarily responsible for performing tasks for roadway projects supporting State DOTs, Counties, and municipalities. You could be based in any of our Massachusetts offices (Westwood, Woburn, Worcester, or Westfield). We offer a hybrid work environment and flexible Fridays in the summer.

The Transportation Team and Projects

The transportation team focuses on planning, designing, and overseeing construction of infrastructure projects such as highways, roads, and bridges. They work to meet safety, efficiency, and environmental standards, while accommodating current and future transportation needs. The team collaborates with public and private stakeholders to enhance mobility and connectivity within communities.

Your Responsibilities

• Leverage engineering expertise to contribute to the design of transportation infrastructure, including highways, interchanges, roads, streets, intersections, and roundabouts.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations at all design stages, from preliminary concepts to final construction plans.
• Develop comprehensive project deliverables such as detailed plans, specifications, technical reports, and cost estimates.
• Ensure project compliance with client expectations and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• At least five years of experience in roadway, bridge, and multimodal transportation project design.
• Experience in developing construction bid documents for transportation projects, especially for MassDOT and Massachusetts municipalities.
• Must be a registered Professional Engineer in Massachusetts or able to obtain licensure within one year.
• Licensure in other New England states is a plus.
