Job summary

PACE Resources Federal Credit Union in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Project Engineer - Transportation to plan and manage transportation engineering phases on mid to large projects, coordinating with designers, technicians, and EITs.

You will use AutoCAD and MicroStation to develop designs, supervise staff, review calculations, and support proposals, budgets, and client meetings. A PE license and ABET degree are required.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong understanding of transportation design principles, techniques, and regulatory standards.
  • Proven ability to mentor staff and manage technical performance across project teams.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate phases of transportation engineering work.
  • Perform and review engineering calculations addressing design constraints.
  • Supervise and mentor project team members including designers, technicians, EITs, and junior engineers.
  • Support project managers in proposals, work plans, budgets, and timelines.
  • Participate in client meetings and coordinate with project teams.
  • Conduct site visits and fieldwork to support design validation.
  • Develop design plans and diagrams using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
  • Process shop drawings, respond to RFIs, edit specifications, and prepare cost estimates.
  • Perform and oversee QA/QC procedures throughout project phases.
  • Maintain technical knowledge of transportation design standards, materials, regulations, and technologies.
  • Assist in resolving construction-related engineering challenges.
  • Contribute to internal training recommendations based on industry trends and technical advancements.
  • Lead or contribute to special technical studies and project reports.
  • Ensure compliance with both corporate and client procedures on design and implementation.
  • Conduct project review sessions to monitor progress and identify any required corrective actions.

What You’ll Do
