AVL is hiring a Calibration Engineer with experience in transmission calibration. A minimum of 1+ years of relevant experience and strong communication skills are required. This position is offsite in Auburn Hills or Chelsea, MI. Qualified candidates will be proactive, driven engineers seeking the next step in their careers.

Skill Team Roles:

The Transmission, Electrification, and Vehicle Calibration team provides engine calibration expertise. The Project Engineer's roles include:

1. Defining, planning, and executing engine, transmission, and vehicle calibration projects.
2. Managing engineering resources according to project needs.
3. Conducting technical studies, preparing specifications, and performing engine and vehicle testing, data analysis, and validation.
4. Ensuring data quality and preparing technical reports.
5. Reviewing projects for compliance with engineering principles, standards, and customer requirements.
6. Coordinating technical development activities, scheduling, and resolving test issues.
7. Supporting research and development activities.
8. Leading customer meetings and communicating test results and progress.
9. Supporting customer calibration trips as needed.
10. Performing other duties to ensure project success.

Qualifications/Skills:

Experience and Education:

• At least 1+ years of experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Key abilities include:

• Identifying and supporting technology development and process improvements.
• Mentoring team members.
• Understanding regulatory and market requirements.
• Calibration experience with multiple transmission types (automatic, dual clutch, CVT, automated manual).
• Independent work in vehicle/transmission calibration, development trip support, drivability calibration, and ADAS/AV calibration.
• Proficiency with tools such as Etas INCA, AVL Drive, MATLAB, and Microsoft Office.

Additional skills include leadership, effective communication, and program management capabilities.
