MTI seeks a new team member for our Calibration team in Plymouth, MI. The role requires experience/knowledge in transmission calibration, with a minimum of 1+ years of postgraduate experience. MTI provides training in AVL tools and software. The Project Engineer will need strong communication skills as they will interact directly with customers and internal teams. The position is offsite in Auburn Hills or Chelsea, MI.

Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the US. We do not sponsor visas for this role.

Skill Team Roles:

The Transmission, Electrification, and Vehicle Calibration team provides engine calibration expertise. The Project Engineer's responsibilities include:

1. Defining, planning, and performing engine, transmission, and vehicle calibration projects.
2. Managing engineering resources to meet project needs.
3. Conducting technical studies, preparing specifications, engine and vehicle testing, data analysis, and validation.
4. Ensuring data quality and preparing technical reports.
5. Reviewing projects for compliance with standards and requirements.
6. Coordinating technical development activities and resolving test issues.
7. Supporting R&D activities.
8. Leading customer meetings and communicating test results and progress.
9. Supporting customer calibration trips.
10. Performing other duties to ensure project success.

Qualifications/Skills:

Experience and Education:

• Minimum 1+ years of experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.

Expected abilities include:

• Identifying and supporting technology development and process improvements.
• Mentoring team members.
• Familiarity with regulatory and market requirements.
• Calibration experience with at least two transmission types: Automatic Step Gear, Dry Dual Clutch, Wet Dual Clutch, CVT.

• Automated manual transmission experience.

• Independent work in areas like calibration optimization, development trip support, drivability calibration, ADAS/AV calibration.

• Experience with tools such as Etas INCA, AVL Drive, Matlab, and others listed.

• Leadership skills, effective communication, and team management experience.

• Experience in quoting, business development, and program delivery.
