Job summary

Lvi-Associates in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Heavy Civil Project Engineer to join our team. You will assist project managers with daily administration, track schedules and budgets, manage RFIs and submittals, and coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel on complex infrastructure projects.

The role requires a strong foundation in heavy civil methods, proficient use of MS Office, and the ability to read plans and specifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of heavy civil construction methods and practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
  • Experience with project management software is preferred.

Heavy Civil Project Engineer
Tacoma, WA

A reputable Heavy Civil General Contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to join its growing team in the Tacoma, WA area. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional looking to gain exposure to complex infrastructure projects while working alongside experienced Project Managers and Superintendents.

The company is involved in a variety of heavy civil projects including excavation, grading, underground utilities, roadway construction, site development, bridges, and other public and private infrastructure improvements.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Managers with daily project administration and coordination.
  • Track project schedules, budgets, and production goals.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Review plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Support procurement efforts and material tracking.
  • Assist with project reporting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Conduct site visits and maintain communication between field and office teams.
  • Ensure project records are accurate and up to date.
Experience Needed
  • 2+ years of experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Experience supporting projects involving:
    • Earthwork and grading
    • Underground utilities
    • Roadway and highway construction
    • Concrete structures
    • Site development
    • Bridge or transportation infrastructure projects
  • Exposure to project scheduling and cost tracking.
  • Experience working with field operations and project teams.
  • Understanding of construction document control and project processes.
