Job summary

Vibration Mountings and Controls Inc is seeking a Project Engineer to independently execute complex engineering assignments for seismic and wind certification of mechanical/electrical equipment. You will elevate technical quality, mentor engineers, and contribute to standards while adhering to internal procedures.

Responsibilities include analyzing non-structural components, defining scope from drawings, and producing comprehensive reports with code compliance, test planning, and collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or related field.
• Advanced proficiency in engineering calculations and validation for seismic/wind certification contexts; ability to read/interpret manufacturing and structural drawings.
• Proficient experience with Inventor and AutoCAD or similar tools.
• Proficient experience in engineering calculations or finite-element-based analysis/modeling (e.g., FEMAP, ANSYS or equivalent).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel for calculations/reporting).
• Project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex analyses of non-structural equipment to evaluate response to seismic and wind loads; select methods and verify results.
• Review and synthesize customer drawings/models to define certification scope and engineering approach.
• Author clear technical reports documenting inputs, methods, results and code compliance.
• Design and verify test fixtures for standard setups; collaborate with field/testing personnel to ensure data quality and safety.
• Coordinate test planning and logistics for higher-complexity projects; interpret test outcomes and reconcile with analysis.
• Conduct peer and deliverable reviews and provide actionable feedback; mentor junior engineers and support onboarding.
• Identify and resolve complex technical issues; propose options with trade-offs and recommend path forward.
• Drive continuous improvement of procedures, templates, and toolsets to improve quality and cycle time.
• Communicate proactively with management, field/testing team, and customers to align on scope and status.
