Job summary

VMC Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer located in Bloomingdale, New Jersey. The role involves providing engineering analysis for seismic and wind certification of mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards.

Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 2 years' experience in engineering calculations. Strong proficiency in tools like FEM, FEA, and MATLAB is preferred. Benefits include health insurance, 401K, and generous paid time off.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering calculations and/or finite element modeling.
• Experience with FEM and FEA preferred.
• Familiarity with IBC (International Building Code) standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out, document and communicate project status.
• Review and analyze customer supplied drawings.
• Perform analysis on sheet metal and/or structural components.
• Write reports documenting findings and analysis.
• Prepare project status reports.
• Design and analyze test fixtures.
• Coordinate all logistical aspects of shake tests.

Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to read and interpret manufacturing and structural drawings

Understanding of engineering principles

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
