Job summary

Ames Construction, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to support the project team on a major construction effort in Utah.

This role emphasizes scheduling, financial forecasting, and operational planning to help mitigate risk and ensure successful project completion. The position requires a minimum of two years in construction or a construction-related degree, with strong communication, time management, and detail orientation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of construction experience or a bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and motivated mindset.
  • Strong time management, multitasking, and prioritization.
  • High attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies.
  • Proficiency with computer applications for project control (Microsoft Office, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Primavera preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

  • Assist project team with scheduling, financial forecasting, and planning.
  • Lead contract management reviews and bid document analysis.
  • Conduct regular meetings with clients, subcontractors, vendors and key stakeholders.
  • Monitor project budgets and cost forecasting, and share information with the team.
  • Provide technical support and constructability reviews for field operations.
  • Oversee construction progress and ensure schedule adherence.
  • Ensure compliance with plans, specs, and applicable regulations.
  • Delegate tasks to team members based on skills and capacity.
