Job summary

Stantec is seeking a mid-level Project Engineer, Roadway to join our Mid-Atlantic team in West Virginia. This position is advertised for the Charleston, WV or Bridgeport, WV offices and involves developing and analyzing roadway designs, coordinating with design teams, and delivering projects that meet client expectations and standards.

Four years of transportation design experience and a BS in Civil Engineering are required; WV PE registration or ability to obtain within 1 year is expected.

• Minimum of four (4) years of transportation design experience
• West Virginia Professional Engineer (P.E.) Registration or ability to obtain P.E. within 1 year required

Your Key Responsibilities

• Develop and analyze engineering designs and specifications to ensure compliance with standards, codes, and regulations.
• Collaborate with project teams and communicate technical concepts effectively to achieve client expectations and project goals.
• Assist in planning, implementing, and completing projects, ensuring effective application of scope requirements, management of time, quality reviews, and effective communications with team members.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Proficient use of MicroStation V8i, Open Roads
• Ability to use or familiarity with AutoCad is a plus
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience and knowledge of AASHTO and WVDOH and/or VDOT design directives and specifications
• Experience and knowledge of WVDOH and/or VDOT roadway and right of way deliverables

Education and Experience

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a related degree
• Minimum of four (4) years of transportation design experience
• West Virginia Professional Engineer (P.E.) Registration or ability to obtain P.E. within 1 year required

Pay Transparency

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
