We are seeking a Pumping and Hydraulics Engineer to join our established water sector team in our FL offices. You will work on various water/wastewater projects requiring extensive experience in planning, designing, and constructing pumping systems and hydraulics, utilizing HI standards for systems with a relative degree of complexity.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing and leading engineering efforts for planning, design, and construction phase services on municipal water, wastewater, and reuse infrastructure projects, with a focus on hydraulics, pumping, and piping systems.
- Leading and reviewing detailed calculations for pumping systems, including system head development, pump selection, and surge analysis.
- Utilizing pumping modeling software preferred.
- Preparing technical memoranda, reports, drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Supporting field investigations, including leading or participating in field testing to validate designs.
- Performing engineering and hydraulic calculations.
- Analyzing data, reviewing technical information, and conducting evaluations.
- Assisting with construction submittal reviews, responding to contractor inquiries, interpreting contract documents, and field observations.
- Troubleshooting hydraulic issues in the field, including analysis for resolution.
- Leading system start-up of complex pumping systems and controls.
Qualifications and experience:
- B.S. Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer with the ability to obtain a Florida PE license within 6 months.
- 15+ years of relevant experience.
- Extensive experience in planning, designing, and constructing pumping systems and hydraulics using HI standards.
- Mentoring staff engineers.
- Self-starter with leadership and project management skills.
- Strong technical skills related to pumping, piping, and hydraulics.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to prepare and present technical reports.
- Basic knowledge of industry-standard software (e.g., PipeFlo, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microstation, ArcGIS, WaterCAD, InfoWater, SewerCAD, InfoSewer).
