Job summary

Forge Constructors is seeking a Project Engineer to support project managers and superintendents on commercial construction projects. The role focuses on documentation, submittals, RFIs, subcontractor coordination, and project reporting, with Procore administration for assigned projects.

The position is based in Texas, with onsite work Monday–Thursday and optional remote Fridays. Occasional travel to active job sites in the San Antonio–Austin area should be expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent field experience.
• 2–5 years of experience in a Project Engineer/Coordinator role within commercial construction.
• Advanced Procore proficiency including submittals, RFIs, budgeting, daily logs, and document management; Procore Certification a plus.
• Working knowledge of construction documents, specifications, and standard AIA contract forms.
• Strong organizational and written/verbal communication skills for coordinating across field, office, and client-facing teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage submittals, RFIs, transmittals, and daily logs in Procore, ensuring documentation is complete and current.
• Serve as the project’s Procore administrator — set up projects, manage permissions, workflows, and training.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and design teams to track deliverables and keep schedules on track.
• Assist PM and Superintendent with budget tracking, change orders, and monthly owner billing support.
• Review drawings and specs to identify conflicts or gaps and route for resolution.
• Support procurement by tracking material lead times, PO’s, and delivery schedules in Procore.
• Prepare and distribute meeting minutes, project reports, and closeout documentation.
• Conduct periodic site visits to verify field conditions align with project documentation.
