Job summary

Forge Constructors is seeking a Project Engineer to support project managers and superintendents on commercial construction projects in Texas. The role emphasizes documentation, submittals, RFIs, subcontractor coordination, and Procore administration for assigned projects from day one.

Based in Addison, TX with a San Antonio office presence, this position requires onsite work Monday through Thursday and optional work-from-home Fridays, with occasional travel to San Antonio-Austin sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field, or equivalent field experience.
• 2-5 years of experience in a Project Engineer/Coordinator role within commercial construction.
• Advanced proficiency in Procore including submittals, RFIs, budgeting, daily logs, and document management.
• Familiarity with construction documents, specifications, and AIA contract forms.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with effective cross-team communication.
• Proficiency in MS Office; familiarity with Bluebeam or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage submittals, RFIs, transmittals, and daily logs in Procore, ensuring all project documentation is complete, accurate, and up to date.
• Serve as the project's Procore administrator - set up projects, manage permissions, build workflows, and train field and office staff on proper use.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and design teams to track deliverables, resolve open items, and keep schedules on track.
• Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with budget tracking, change order documentation, and monthly owner billing support.
• Review drawings and specifications to identify conflicts, coordination issues, or scope gaps, and route them for resolution.
• Support procurement by tracking material lead times, purchase orders, and delivery schedules within Procore.
• Prepare and distribute meeting minutes, project reports, and closeout documentation.
• Conduct periodic site visits to verify field conditions align with project documentation and to support quality control.
• Maintain accurate as-built records and support the punch list and closeout process.
