Job Overview

Primoris Heavy Civil is seeking a Project Engineer to plan and oversee bridge projects in Shreveport, Louisiana. We provide construction services for highways, ports, airfields, rail, and marine intermodal transportation to private, industrial, and governmental clients, including the Department of Transportation and the US Army Corps of Engineers. Services include demolition, earthwork, soil stabilization, excavation, drainage, pile driving, paving, infrastructure rehabilitation, bridge construction, and more.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain plan drawings and revisions.
2. Create and maintain project logs.
3. Perform material take-offs.
4. Communicate with owners and client representatives.
5. Calculate pricing, issue contracts, and purchase orders.
6. Schedule subcontractor work and material deliveries.
7. Negotiate with owners on project delays and accelerations.
8. Measure work in place, monitor quantities, and report to the project manager.
9. Assist in resolving quantity disputes.
10. Develop payment requests and maintain project documentation.
11. Prepare close-out documents.
12. Ensure timely submittals and quality control compliance.
13. Supervise cost allocation of labor, equipment, and materials.
14. Report daily on hours, work, delays, and extra work.
15. Present information effectively to clients and management.
16. Operate Primavera 3 and 6 proficiently.
17. Define problems, collect data, and draw conclusions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 1-4 years of experience in heavy civil industry.
