Job Description

Primoris Heavy Civil is currently searching for a Project Engineer to help plan and oversee bridge projects in Shreveport, Louisiana. Primoris Heavy Civil provides highway, port, airfield, rail, and marine (intermodal transportation) construction services to private commercial and industrial clients as well as governmental entities. Our services include demolition, heavy earthwork, soil stabilization, mass excavation, drainage, pile driving, concrete paving, infrastructure rehabilitation, top-down construction, bridge construction, major interstate and highway projects, airports, marine, and rail installations.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Maintain plan drawings and revisions.
  2. Create and maintain all required Project Logs.
  3. Perform material take-offs.
  4. Communicate with the owner and client representatives.
  5. Calculate pricing and issue contracts and purchase orders for subcontractors and suppliers.
  6. Schedule subcontractor work and supplier material deliveries.
  7. Negotiate with the owner on time extensions, delay impacts, and accelerations.
  8. Measure all work put in place and monitor quantities; report these to the project manager for monthly estimates and reporting to the accounting department.
  9. Participate with the Project Manager in resolving quantity disputes with the owner/engineer.
  10. Assist the Project Manager in developing requests for payment for extra work and claims for changes; maintain project records and documentation.
  11. Prepare all close-out documents at contract completion.
  12. Ensure all submittals are timely and quality control plans are followed.
  13. Supervise cost allocation of all labor, equipment, and materials purchased on the project.
  14. Make daily reports of hours worked, work performed, and delays or extra work.
  15. Present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and management.
  16. Operate Primavera 3 and 6 with a moderate to high proficiency.
  17. Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • One (1) to four (4) years of experience in the heavy civil industry.
