Job summary

Coperion is seeking a Project Engineer to lead technical execution of pneumatic conveying and material handling systems. You will coordinate with customers, vendors, manufacturing, automation, and installation teams to ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery from design to commissioning.

The role requires strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills, plus proficiency in CAD software and mechanical engineering fundamentals. Travel is expected 20–35%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems and provide practical solutions.
• Experience interpreting customer specifications, contracts, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Execute projects from order receipt through design, manufacturing, commissioning, and turnover.
• Coordinate with project managers, customers, vendors, manufacturing, automation, and installation teams.
• Serve as primary or secondary customer contact during project execution.
• Develop PFDs with equipment tagging and process information.
• Create and maintain P&IDs.
• Review and specify OEM and vendor equipment.
• Coordinate with manufacturers to review drawings and technical docs.
• Generate preliminary equipment stack-up and detailed layout drawings.
• Review deliverables for accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain project drawing packages and documentation.
• Monitor deliverables and provide schedule updates to managers and customers.
• Identify risks and issues; assist with resolution.
• Coordinate with suppliers and field service resources.
• Support installation subcontract docs and change orders.
• Conduct site visits, commissioning, startup support, and troubleshooting.
• Assist with warranty resolution after project closeout.
