Qualifications

• Senior-level facility/pipeline engineering experience; project management preferred.
• Experience with hydraulic or pipeline system modeling; familiarity with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop conceptual engineering designs and scopes for pipeline and facility expansion projects.
• Support projects from initial concept through detailed design, field implementation, and startup.
• Perform hydraulic, capacity, and system modeling to optimize pipeline operations.
• Evaluate pipeline capacity utilization and identify improvements for reliability and efficiency.
• Provide engineering support to operations teams for troubleshooting and maintenance planning.
• Coordinate transportation capacity across interstate pipeline systems with tariffs, regulations, and contracts.
• Partner with project managers, operations, scheduling, and commercial teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support regulatory filings, operational improvements, and major capital projects.
• Develop preliminary cost estimates and equipment sizing for proposed projects.
• Assist with operational planning and evaluate impacts of maintenance activities on capacity.
• Maintain and utilize engineering models to support decision-making.
• Communicate project status and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer – Pipeline to support the growth, capacity optimization, reliability, and operational performance of a major energy infrastructure system.

This role is ideal for an experienced pipeline/facilities engineer who can move comfortably between engineering design, hydraulic and capacity modeling, project development, and operational support. The successful candidate will play a key role in taking projects from initial concept and scope development through implementation while partnering closely with operations, project management, scheduling, and commercial teams.

What You’ll Do

• Develop conceptual engineering designs and scopes for pipeline and facility expansion projects.
• Support projects from initial concept and funding through detailed design, field implementation, and startup.
• Perform hydraulic, capacity, and system modeling to optimize pipeline operations and identify system improvements.
• Evaluate pipeline capacity utilization and identify opportunities to improve system reliability and efficiency.
• Provide engineering support to operations teams for troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and operational issues.
• Coordinate transportation capacity across interstate pipeline systems while considering applicable tariffs, regulations, and contractual requirements.
• Partner with project managers, operations, contractors, scheduling, and commercial teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support regulatory filings, operational improvements, and major capital projects.
• Develop preliminary cost estimates, equipment sizing, and other engineering inputs for proposed projects.
• Assist with operational planning and evaluate the impact of maintenance and project activities on system capacity.
• Maintain and utilize engineering models and analytical tools to support decision-making.
• Communicate project status, technical findings, and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 10–15 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within the pipeline, midstream, or energy infrastructure industry.
• Senior-level facility/pipeline engineering experience; prior project management experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of pipeline operations, transportation systems, and regulated energy infrastructure.
• Experience with hydraulic and/or pipeline system modeling.
• Advanced Excel and VBA proficiency is required.
• Familiarity with FERC regulations, tariffs, contractual requirements, and applicable pipeline safety/environmental regulations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Comfortable taking direction while also demonstrating initiative and proactively identifying solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Experience

• Pipeline and compressor simulation software.
• Energy industry experience involving the coordination of engineering, operations, field activities, scheduling, and commercial functions.
• Capital project development and economics.
• Experience supporting interstate pipeline systems.
